The Brookland Police Department is teaming up with the Arkansas Highway Safety Office to put more officers on the streets of Brookland, specifically for the purpose of enforcing existing traffic laws. Brookland received a grant in which the city is reimbursed for officer overtime that is worked during specific campaigns that are created to bring awareness and enforcement to traffic laws that can reduce the risk of personal injury or deaths on our streets.
The first such campaign (Click It or Ticket) begins on May 19, 2025, and goes through June 1, 2025. Brookland Police Officers will be out actively looking for violators of the Arkansas Seat Belt/Child Restraint law.
Brookland Officers work a dangerous stretch of highway, between Jonesboro and Paragould, and would like to remind everyone to please buckle up. It could save your life.
